  • Philip and Emery Branstiter were sons of Daniel Branstiter and Elizabeth Baker.

    Philip Branstiter was born in 1829 in German Township, Clark County, Ohio. He may have been named for Elizabeth’s father who died the year before in 1828. He died on August 21, 1830.

    Emery Branstiter was born on July 2, 1831 in German Township. He died on September 5, 1833. 

    Emery and Philip are buried together at Lawrenceville Cemetery.

    The two small headstones in Lawrenceville Cemetery for Emery and Phillip Branstiter.  They read “Emery, son of Daniel and Elizabeth Branstiter, died Sept. 5, 1833 aged 2 years, 2 mo & 3 days" and “Phillip, son of Daniel & Elizabeth Branstiter died 21 August 1830 Aged 1 year."

    Clark County, Ohio was formed March 1, 1817, from Champaign, Madison and Greene Counties. The first settlement was in 1796. The inhabitants of German Township were German Lutherans who came from Virginia.

    Lawrenceville Cemetery is in the village of Lawrenceville, German Township, Clark County, Ohio.
